On 28 November 2025, the second annual Fieldlab Zephyros event took place in Vlissingen. Organized by World Class Maintenance together with partners from the offshore wind and maintenance sectors, this year’s gathering focused on the latest developments in smart maintenance for offshore wind turbine blades.

Rijkswaterstaat on stage: Digital North Sea and maintenance innovation

At the opening session, Steven Abdoelkhan and Martijn van Dijk from Rijkswaterstaat CIV presented the theme Digital North Sea. Their presentation highlighted the role of digital technology and data-driven maintenance in the transition toward a safe, efficient, and future-proof maintenance strategy in the North Sea. The programme included presentations, live demonstrations, and interactive sessions on the AIRTuB project and other smart maintenance initiatives.

Launch of the film Grip op Onderhoud

During the event, the new Rijkswaterstaat film Grip op Onderhoud was also launched — a production that demonstrates how maintenance in the Netherlands can be organised in a future-proof and data-driven way. The film highlights how maintenance processes can be effectively managed using modern technologies, aligning with the themes central to the Fieldlab Zephyros event. This launch marked an important step in showcasing innovative maintenance practices and sharing knowledge across the sector.
